Visit Äänekoski is the marketing and development organization for the Äänekoski travel destination, operating under the City of Äänekoski. Visit Äänekoski is a non-profit regional organization that develops the operating environment and capabilities of tourism entrepreneurs. Every company operating in Äänekoski participates equally in development activities.
Tourism marketing
Visit Äänekoski markets and provides information about the city, attractions, events and other tourism services to visitors and residents. The goal is to strengthen Äänekoski’s appeal and business life, and to boost travel to the area and the development of the tourism industry.
As the regional tourism marketing organization, Visit Äänekoski is responsible for coordinating and implementing joint marketing for the area, producing and developing content for Visit Äänekoski’s digital channels, printed materials, campaigns, fairs, and media relations.
In addition to general and image marketing, Visit Äänekoski carries out various marketing campaigns. Recurring themes include, among others, the Äänekoski area’s nature sites and hiking destinations, but the campaigns also feature a wide range of events, culture, and local businesses according to the season.
Visit Äänekoski’s key goals:
1. Involving residents in positive communications about their city
2. Increasing awareness of the city’s attractions, services, and local businesses
3. Improving awareness of Visit Äänekoski’s social media channels and increasing visitor numbers.
Event calendar
Äänekoski’s event calendar is synchronized to the aanekoski.fi and visitaanekoski.fi websites as well as Äänekoski’s own app. Events therefore gain broad visibility across different media, and that’s why you should always submit your event to the calendar.
You may submit all events, trainings, courses and similar public events taking place in the Äänekoski area to the event calendar. Each submission is reviewed before publication to prevent misuse.
Online visibility
The visitaanekoski.fi web portal is a free platform for all companies operating in the Äänekoski area where products and services can be showcased. A tourism operator’s contact details are listed under the theme the operator represents. Our site themes are See & Do, Eat, Accommodation and venues, Events, and Info.

Tourism cooperation
Our city cooperates on tourism with Visit Jyväskylä Region . Visit Jyväskylä Region serves as the regional organization (DMO/Destination Management Organization) for the Central Finland tourism area and is responsible, among other things, for the area’s tourism information, marketing, and development services. Altogether 18 municipalities in Central Finland are contractually involved in the cooperation. The City of Äänekoski’s contact person for tourism businesses and other operators is the regional tourism advisor Mira Parkkola.
