Keitele-Päijänne project
Welcome to the Keitele-Päijänne tourism development project! Development company Witas Oy has launched on 1.11.2020 an entrepreneur-driven tourism development project for the Keitele-Päijänne area. The project focuses on concrete productization, marketing and sales of the area's tourism offering, together with local companies and leading industry actors.
The project will productize local companies' offerings and travel packages for the domestic and Central European markets. Tourism companies and private accommodation providers in the Keitele-Päijänne area who aim to develop productization, marketing and sales, as well as networking, are welcome to join the project.
As a result of the project, companies and municipalities will have concrete sellable products that are also available in online sales channels. Products can be marketed and sold as such or as travel packages during and after the project.
The project consists of five phases:
1. Project preparation, communications and registrations by 18.12.2020
2. Productization workshops and company-specific support, January–March 2021
3. Marketing and sales in the Central European and domestic markets, March–August 2021
4. Testing of products with customers and companies, May–August 2021
5. Finalization of productizations from customer feedback as a basis for post-project sales, September–November 2021.

Participation is free of charge due to municipal funding, but requires active development and cooperation.
Project funders are the Regional Council of Southwest Finland and the Regional Council of South Savo, together with participating municipalities from Central Finland and Päijät-Häme: Viitasaari, Pihtipudas, Kinnula, Kivijärvi, Konnevesi, Äänekoski, Laukaa, Toivakka, Jyväskylä, Muurame, Jämsä, Kuhmoinen, Sysmä, Padasjoki and Asikkala. Jyväs-Marine Oy and Elämys Group Oy also participate in the project with in-kind work contributions.
Funding has been granted from the funding for development projects promoting the recovery of the tourism industry, and the total budget of the project is 150,000 euros. The project implementation period is 1.11.2020 – 31.12.2021.
