The Äänemäki mountain biking trail network offers varied opportunities for both beginners and experienced riders to enjoy nature and exercise in beautiful heath terrain. The trails start from the parking area of the Äänemäki ski center.
The Äänemäki trail network has something for riders of all levels. The trails wind through the Äänemäki area in Äänekoski and total about 18 km. They run through pine heaths with firm, dry ground. There are three difficulty levels to choose from: easy, challenging, and difficult.
The easy route is 4.3 km long and suitable for beginners. It is mostly easy technically, but includes a few trickier sections and some elevation changes. The ground is sandy heath. The challenging route is 5.1 km long and includes more technical sections, elevation changes, as well as rocks and roots. This route requires more skill and endurance. The difficult route is 5.8 km long and features rock gardens, demanding climbs and descents, and jumps. The route ascends Äänemäki in three places, offering great views of Keitele. It is designed for experienced mountain bikers seeking more challenging sections and adrenaline.
