The beginning of the year has been full of changes for Visit Äänekoski and more updates are on the way. The already familiar #hiddenäänekoski ambassadors are becoming Visit ambassadors. A diverse group of people from different backgrounds, all sharing the positive message of Äänekoski, were selected as Visit ambassadors. The Visit ambassadors will create content for Visit Äänekoski's social media channels from their own perspectives and bring varied content for everyone to see. If you feel that you'd like to be part of the community and act as a Visit ambassador, don't hesitate to contact us (matkailu@aanekoski.fi).

Among the new ambassadors are also people living outside Äänekoski who have a connection to the city. This gives us a perspective on how Äänekoski looks through the eyes of non-locals. The local Visit ambassadors live in different parts of Äänekoski and create content that reflects their everyday lives and hobbies. By combining different perspectives, we can present a comprehensive picture of the city and what it has to offer to different target groups.

Serving as an ambassador is voluntary and not separately compensated. Therefore, the ambassadors are not obligated to produce any specific type of content; the photos and texts they create are an authentic depiction of life in Äänekoski. The ambassadors met each other for the first time via Teams on 10 June, and based on that meeting, you can look forward to diverse, high-quality content from new perspectives.

So who are they?

You can find short introductions to the new Visit ambassadors below, and you will get more information by following Visit Äänekoski on Instagram and Facebook as well as #visitlähettiläs.

Mira Ekroos @pikkumirkkuli

Hi! I'm Mira and I live in Äänekoski in the countryside. Nature is close here, and I spend a lot of time outdoors, both on my own and with my two dogs. I'm also a born green thumb and spend plenty of time in the yard and garden. I also play disc golf and have trained as a disc golf instructor.

Nea Nyholm @unelmia_rakentamassa

Hi! I'm Nea and I live in Jyväskylä with my husband and my dog. Our cabin is in Äänekoski on the shore of a small lake. In my free time I enjoy being at the cabin, renovating, lounging, and spending time outdoors. Handicrafts are also close to my heart. I just graduated as an interior designer. What could be more inspiring than cabin life and letting creativity flow?

Simo Terävä @simoterava

Hi! I'm Simo Terävä, 22 years old, and originally from Äänekoski. At the moment I live up north in Rovaniemi! I'm in my second year studying to become a forestry engineer. I compete in mountain biking at the national level and actively travel to races in the summers. I also like to go find swimming spots in the summer with our dog Leo.

Miia Lomperi @miialom

Hi! I'm Miia, 33, and in addition to my husband our family includes children aged 10, 8, 6 and 2. We also have a couple of dogs. We live on the border of Sumiainen and Matilanvirta. We spend most of our free time just being together as a family, walking the dogs, and doing handicrafts. By profession I'm a practical nurse and I work in home care.

Ella Tuovinen @tuovisella

Hi! I'm Ella and I live in Hirvaskangas with my husband. I'm originally from Northern Savonia, but I greatly enjoy my life in Central Finland, where I spend my days serving customers at Kelloliike Tammelin together with my aunt and her husband. I spend my free time very actively, mainly skiing, running, or working out at the gym. In addition, the at-home #ellantyöleiri keeps friends and relatives busy quite often, too.

Teemu Hakalax @tempepoika

Hi! My name is Teemu and I have two dogs. I spend my free time on various hobbies in nature. I enjoy paddling, tour skating, fishing, and spending time at the cabin. I'm from Äänekoski and live near the town center. I spend my workdays at the factory, so being out in the forest brings good balance to everyday life. Nature and the environment are close to my heart.

This group is a great way to kick off the refreshed concept of the Visit ambassadors. Welcome aboard, new ambassadors! Naturally, Sini Kaapro-Lindenberg and Peter Lindenberg (better known as @sinijapete) are also part of the community. Here are their greetings to Visit's followers and the new ambassadors: "We have an excellent group of ambassadors, and anyone can be a Visit ambassador too. Let's enjoy the summer and share the vibes in the form of photos and stories, and remember to tag @visit_aanekoski."
