Hiskinmökki

The oldest building in the Hiskinmäki residential area is available for private events. The cottage was moved across the stream at the end of 2019. Restoration and refurbishment of Hiskinmökki were completed in autumn 2020, when the venue was reopened for public rental use.

Bookings for Hiskinmökki can be viewed in the Asio booking system. Permission to use the venue is applied for through the Technical Services administration.

Hiskinmökki is the oldest and only remaining building from the Hiskinmäki residential area that grew around the mill of a miller named Hiskias. The cottage was built in the 19th century. The first mill stood on the riverbank at the end of the 16th century.

Hiskinmökki was originally a bakehouse. It also served as a Sunday school and a gathering place for local residents. The cottage’s interior has been renovated. Hiskinmökki can be rented for events.
