Tuuletar at the lakeside park picnic

Tuuletar’s Sini Koskelainen, Johanna Kyykoski, Piia Säilynoja, Venla Ilona Blom
At the Rantapuisto Picnic free concert there was again this year music for everyone - for children as well as adults. I went to check out Tuuletar’s gig. The band’s name had been familiar to me before, but I wouldn’t have been able to name a single song—embarrassingly, I admit! Now that’s been fixed, and they certainly won me over as a passionate admirer.
Tuuletar is a Finnish vocal folk hop group that blends in its music folk music, mysticism, urban sounds, and experimental playing. Tuuletar isn’t quite a traditional a cappella group; there’s also hard-hitting beatboxing. The women write all their own songs, and Tuuletar is already quite popular worldwide. The band’s song 'Alku' was also heard in the season seven trailer of Game of Thrones.

Memories from Tuuletar’s gig!
On Rantapuisto’s almost painfully hot stage, Tuuletar delivered a fine show, with music from both albums. 'Veela' especially struck me, but I was moved to tears during the song 'Kaipaava' as well, which was the only cover of the show.
Such a band fit wonderfully on the shores of Keitele, where nature shows its most beautiful side, and Tuuletar brings and creates a mystical space around them. When you closed your eyes, it was as if you were one with some ancient force, which the music and the surrounding nature brought about.
