Yhteisöpuutarha
The Piilolanniemi garden area in the urban area of Äänekoski is the first large-scale, municipal Green Care project to be implemented in Finland. As a whole, the garden improves access to nature-based wellbeing services for different age groups and individual needs.
The Yhteisöpuutarha in Äänekoski is open to everyone to spend time and take part in environment-themed events. Developed in stages, the garden aims to provide diverse, future needs–driven services. Once completed, it will be an arena for nature-based activities and a showcase of the area’s potential: residents will gain new ways to act more sustainably, along with a genuine learning environment to adapt their own actions toward more sustainable choices. By working together, Yhteisöpuutarha will grow into a unique example of a platform for the sharing and circular economy. It brings together all four dimensions of sustainable development: cultural, ecological, social, and economic sustainability.
