Rantaviidakko-leikkipuisto
A new theme playground based on children's wishes, Rantaviidakko, has been completed in Rantapuisto in central Äänekoski. Children chose the park's name, play equipment, and themes. The themes are the jungle and the underwater world.
The participatory-designed theme park opened in summer 2024 on the shore of Häränvirta in central Äänekoski. The playground, named Rantaviidakko by children, features jungle and underwater world themes. At children's request, the park includes two zip lines, trampolines, and a nest swing.
The playground is open 7:00–21:00. The area is under CCTV surveillance. The playground is intended for families with children.
Rantaviidakko is the City of Äänekoski's model example of involving children in urban planning and developing a child-friendly city. Genuine child participation ensures the park truly becomes children's own place! In Äänekoski, we grow with you!
